What we collect
When you use FindYourU, we collect information you provide directly: your email address when you create an account, your quiz answers when you use our matching tools, and payment information processed by Stripe (we do not store credit card numbers). We also collect standard usage data such as pages visited and features used.
How we use it
We use your information to provide and improve our services, deliver your results, send transactional emails (receipts, reports), and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to serve advertising.
Data storage
Your account data is stored securely in Supabase, a managed database service. Your quiz answers and school reports are stored in your account and accessible only to you. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy.
Email communications
We send transactional emails including payment receipts and report summaries. We may occasionally send product updates. You may opt out of non-transactional emails at any time by contacting support@findyouru.com.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser localStorage and sessionStorage to cache quiz progress and results locally on your device. This data does not leave your browser except when explicitly saved to your account. We do not use advertising cookies.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Cached school report data is periodically refreshed. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@findyouru.com.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Insights generation service (campus life synthesis and school matching), College Scorecard API (federal enrollment data), Google Places API (school location data), Walk Score API (walkability data), and Open-Meteo (climate data).
